WACK EXHiBiTiON – That Was A Thing

It was quite the night, we had performances, some good, some not so much, announcements and probably some disappointed fans. I am going to just put the outcomes of everything out there and probably toss in a couple of opinions, most of which might not be popular. Lets look at the performances first.

First up we had EMPiRE, newest group in the WACK stable. They put on a really good performance, good energy.  I was hoping for a song of the new release, but no. I was also looking for a set that was a bit longer.

  1. Buttocks beat! beat!
  3.  TOKYO MOONLiGHT

Next up was GANG PARADE, probably the best group WACK has at the moment (Yes, that is my opinion). The set was great, sure energetic. Great song choices as well.

  1. BREAKING THE ROAD
  2. GANG PARADE
  3. WE ARE the IDOL
  4. FOUL
  5. Plastic 2 Mercy

Up next were BiS, just like GANG PARADE they did not hold back during their performance. Everyone, including MOMOLAND, could be heard well. Another high energy performance.

  1. BiSBiS
  2. SOCiALiSM
  3. gives
  4. nerve
  5. WHOLE LOTTA LOVE

Last to take the stage was BiSH. Now this might be an unpopular opinion but I thought they came across as lazy. The vocals seemed a bit lack-luster. Atsuko and Momoko Gumi Co. were actually really good and it was a bit of a sham that the rest of them couldn’t step up and give it their all.

  1. GiANT KiLLERS
  2. SMACK baby SMACK
  3. DA DANCE!!
  5. JAM

After the live performances it was time for the real show. Watanabe took the stage to make the announcements on what would happen with the 10 hopefuls. I will just give a quick breakdown of what the end result was. If you want to view it for yourself it is not hard to find on YouTube.

First off, if you remember, the WACK girl with the lowest point was to get her name changed. Maika came in last and her name was changed to:

  • Can GP Maika

A quick note so nobody is confused, no new group was formed from the hopefuls, they were added to existing groups. Here are the new line-ups. New additions are in bold. Also, don’t be surprised if you see the new girls renamed later.

EMPiRE:

  • MiDORiKO EMPiRE
  • MAYU EMPiRE
  • YU-KI EMPiRE
  • YUKA EMPiRE

The new members of EMPiRE will be unveiled at a one-man on May 1st at Akasaka BLITZ. Also at this point YUiNA EMPiRE will cease her activities with the group and officially move over to BiS 2nd.

GANG PARADE:

GANG PARADE will be unveiled at a one-man on April 17th at Zepp Diver-City.

Now this one is a bit tricky. BiS received a good number of new members plus the group was split into two individual groups. In the only existing member transfer this year, YUiNA EMPiRE was moved to BiS 2nd.

BiS 1st

BiS 2nd

  • YUiNA EMPiRE

BiS as a whole (both groups) will be using what Watanabe has termed the J-League system. I assume it will allow members to transfer between the groups when it is deemed needed or earned. We will have to wait on detail about exactly how it works. It also seems that BiS 1st and BiS 2nd will be releasing singles on July 4th.

Lastly, poor みみらんど was eliminated after all others had been placed and just left the stage.

So all together it was a pretty eventful week full of ups and downs. I for one look forward to the WACK Joint Audition 2019. I am sure it will be just as surprising as this one.
